PASTORAL LEADERSHIP

REV. FELTON T. SESSOMS
Pastor Emeritus
Servant Leadership of Rev. Felton T. Sessoms (2003–2023).
In June 2003, the church extended the Macedonian Call to Rev. Felton T. Sessoms of Nassawadox, affiliated with Bethel Baptist Church in Franktown. Over two decades, Pastor Sessoms:
Modeled servant leadership, believing no task was beneath him while embracing the motto “Ministering Upward, Outward, and Inward.”
During his tenure, he transitioned governance from boards and committees to team-based ministries, and highlighted the importance of evangelism and making disciples as opposed to making members. “Some plant, some water, but God gives increase.”
Pastor Sessoms championed holistic care for congregants and intentional outreach in the surrounding community and embraced youth and their ministries as a viable entity for the church of “today.”
He enhanced technology in teaching, preaching and presentations and during his tenure a new Pastor’s Study was constructed.
Pastor Sessoms retirement in June 2023 left a legacy of empowerment, unity, and Christ-centered service.
Under the leadership of our current Pastor, Rickey R. Rouse, Jr., Pastor Sessoms was officially recognized as "Pastor Emeritus" during a service honoring our church officials on Sunday, February 22, 2026. To God be the Glory!
